The Liver Bards: A Merseyside Anthology of Poetry, Prose and Two Very Good Jokes
'An anthology like this one offers itself as an image of possibility: the possibility, I mean, of a real community of shared yet diverse interests.'
Philip Davis, University of Liverpool
The Liver Bards brings together new and imaginative writing from the Merseyside area. It draws on talent that previously hasn't been given a platform and covers topics as wide ranging as trombones in Beijing and travels in Pakistan, central heating and local architecture.
The Liver Bards was awarded the Miriam Allott Prize for poetry in 2002.
